ABOUT ME
"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough."
-Oprah Winfrey
I served a two-year (2016-2018) mission near Chicago, Illinois for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I took time off of college and had limited contact with friends and family so I could dedicate myself to teaching others about my faith in Jesus Christ.
I have recently come down with a severe case of the travel bug. During Thanksgiving break 2019, I was able to take my mom on a trip to Costa Rica. We spent time in the jungle, on the beach, and in the mountains.
I love being outdoors and hiking has been one of my favorite hobbies since I was young. I'll spend a lot of my summers finding new trails to climb. My next goal is to climb Mount Whitney.
I started playing rugby in my sophomore year of high school. I was lucky enough to get to play on a collegiate level at Utah Valley University before serving my mission. I still miss rugby everyday and try to find opportunities to play in independent tournaments.
Being from California, it's typical of me to find the beach wherever I go. I spent a few months in Virginia and loved exploring the Chesapeake Bay area.
I grew up snowboarding at a small resort near my home in Fresno, CA. It's been so fun to go to school in Utah, surrounded by so many great ski resorts. I spend almost all my weekends in the wintertime snowboarding up at Sundance resort.
I competitively golfed for 3 years. Now, I love to spend time at driving ranges keeping my skills sharp. I am always up for a round of 18 holes.
Living in Utah has provided lots of opportunities for exploring. Home to five national parks, living here has helped me towards my goal of going to all 62 US National Parks.
I like to spend the summertime outdoors. During summer 2019, I was lucky enough to do a bit of travelling that took me to Glacier National Park in Montana. I got to hike and fish (two of my favorite things) and get a little closer to my national park goal!
In my summer 2019 travels, I got to spend a week in Iceland. I went with my brother and his family and we got to see a lot of beautiful scenery as well as hike around and try a lot of interesting foods. It was a great experience as my first time out of the country.
I absolutely love to fish. I spent almost all of my free time during my freshman year of college fishing. I really want to catch an Arctic Grayling one day.
I got to spend a significant amount of time during my internship at Evident Systems exploring Washington DC. I will always be partial to the west coast, but the east coast certainly has its charm.
